Luminous Studio was founded in 2018 in Madrid by mother-daughter partners, Maggi Toro and Isabella Benshimol. Maggi holds a BA in Architecture from Universidad Central de Venezuela in Caracas, being this their place of origin. She has been involved in fashion and design for more than twenty years developing great knowledge and devotion for precious metals. Isabella is a London based artist and art director. She received an MFA in Fine Arts from Goldsmiths University in 2020. Through sculptures, installations and videos she explores places beyond the limits of language seduced by the uncontrollability and pure materiality of the process of making and its relation with the body.
Luminous Studio was born with the ambition of lighting. From creating light to offering light, hence its name. Luminous Studio is not only based in the reflecting the light of their fine jewellery, but in a wider desire which speaks both of marking a path towards beauty and of radiating pleasure in contemplation and subtle detail. It brings its own luminosity to the body and face as well as to the heart and mind. It alludes to the power of the gaze, and touch but also to the power of ideas and affections.
